Bin Henman

Now, wait, OK? Before you have a go at me for having a go at National Treasure Tiger Timmy (phhh hahahahah, sorry couldn't resist) hear me out.

So here we are, another year at the queens club, Pat Cash and Boris Becker are your analysts, the grass is initially green, the Robinsons special R adverts are on the TV, the Williams Sisters are back (with Serena really having to strap her boobs down this time) and we're presented with the usual array of faces, Ferrero, Coetzer, Pierce, Nadal - same old same old.

Also same old is that Tim Henman didn't win wimbledon, in fact this year he didn't survive the first week. That's ok, Tim has still got time, he looks about 15 years old.......no.......wait.......Tim's been around forever when you think about it, and....yes....he's even had a hill named after him - Why? No really Why? He never wins it. Tim is a seasoned Veteran and unless he does an Ivanisevic is really likely ever to win it. In fact I can't help feeling that on being knocked out this time he was probably thinking - "good, less media attention, now I can watch it down the Pub and have a pie". For years, (it really is years folks, we're getting old) Tim has been battered by the press for his "will he/won't he" performances - well I say, let's forget about him and let him do his own thing.

For too long we've been focussing our energies on this poor bloke and all to no avail. I can't believe that of a nation of 64 million (guesstimate) and one that invented the bloody game, we've only had one star to talk about over the past 10 years!!!! Come on!

However, the future is bright - Mr Murray please stand up. Fortunately Henman hill is for sale, and Murrayfield is about to take its place, and already he looks a cut above the usual British, starched whites, wooden racket pap that we usually produce.

And one final thing.....on the back of this years Wimbledon performance which was the same as the rest of his.....can we please finally disown Greg Rusedski and admit that he is Canadian.
