Good Clean Fun

So I got back from the best week long holiday and what does my housemate say?:
"Had a good time?"
"I've had a fantastic time thanks"
"Did you Pull?"

Such is my "what a good time means" reputation in Northampton. I was shocked and said "No mate, I didn't, I found other things to do with my time". And other things I did do! I never knew a week in Hunstanton, Norfolk on your tod could be so much fun! More fun than a "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" Night in Abu Graib Prison!

Saturday: Spent with folks, Father's birthday. We all went to Sandringham House, very interesting place but the Queen needs to know she needs to give it a lick of paint (yeah, like we saw the rooms that she stays in - pah!). In the evening I cooked for all the family- culinary triumph.

Sunday: General mooch day, went for a walk on the beach, whilst me and my Dad chucked the ol' hogskin at each other and got very sore arms from doing so. Eventually the family unit buggered off at about 6.30. I hate to say it but at the time I was itching for them to go as I wanted to plan my wonderful ocean of time that was ahead of me; felt a bit bad about that. Anyways, went for a stroll along the sea front soon after and enjoyed watching the waves crash against the peer, sending spray over us from the high tide.

Monday: In a fit of excitement, got up at 6.30 (very early for me) and decided to go for a run. I decided to see how far Heacham was from Hunny, running against a big wave tide (great fun). Apparently there and back is about a seven mile round trip as I found out to my discomfort (haven't run over 3 since the Gt North Run last year - ouch!). Got back sweating from places I never knew had pores, took a good shower and then headed out to Holkham hall, good mooch round there. Then decided to take the scenic route back and checked out the beautiful marshes and staithes that make up the North Norfolk Coast. It truly is a diverse area of the UK from the Sandy Beaches at Brancaster, to the Muddy Marshes near Holkham. Went home and did some writing for a crazy book idea I have.

Tuesday: Took a trip down memory lane today. Went and visited Kings Lynn, walked round the entire town (which is suprisingly well populated with good shops considering its about the size of Goole) and then visited my old address in Wootton from when I was three years old (aaaah). Also checked out where my Granny used to live when I was a nipper, and it was all lump in the throat misty stuff. On the way back popped into Sandringham gift shop to conduct the local produce raid that I had planned on Saturday. When I returned home with the Jams and Sticky Goods I had bought I was loathe to find that a lot of it was made at Windsor Farm not Sandringham, and some more in Daventry! - about 20 miles away from where I live on J16. Tut Tut Queeny - what happened to supporting the locals? It later turned out that the fudge I bought for the guys at work (Hunstanton Fudge) is made in Exeter - WTF? Then went for a colossal walk and wrote an entire book plot in the process - bloody marvelous.
